1000: Isabel (full squat). 5min38s (PR by 2min40s). Yesterday, woke up tired and kind of fatigued most of the day and didn't ahve a great WOD. Decided to sleep in and skip run/row for today and do something more met-con that also works on skills. Snatches still feel kinda weird... this new Chinese technique needs some work. I lost two of them in front, and I cut the pull too much today. Contributing factors are fatigue from yesterday's WOD, esp in the legs, but no excuses for bad technique. The pull didn't feel right today, and the catch was too low/at times not in the slot. Gotta keep practicing... Be patient on the first phase of the pull, remember to jump straight up, look forward on the catch.
Did 8 rope ascents after for practice. Descents are better. Biceps still take a beating. Good work on the foot holds.
1830: power clean 1-1-1-1-1-1-1.
I warmed up with 225 for doubles, started at 235, then did 245, 255 and 265. Stopped at 265 as it was almost a half-squat (felt like a full squat but Mat insisted it was well above parallel). Pretty happy with that. I did 265lbs for triples as a 200-pounder, but my goal today was 265 -- given the leg-heavy workout yesterday and the Isabel this morning. Good stuff!
Since Dan was doing deadlifts, I joined him for a bit since I haven't done deadlifts in a while. 225x5, 315x5, 405x3, 405x3, 455x1. felt pretty good. Not easy, but good.
